Greetings Parents, Colleagues, and Community Members:

What is The Academy?

The Academy is a learning environment where hope and aspirations are restored.  Often times, many of our students are experiencing challenges in life that are beyond belief.  They need a support system in place to encourage and inspire them to gain one of their greatest accomplishments; and that is attaining their high school diploma.  The majority of our students are not being successful in a traditional setting, and they are struggling either emotionally, socially or academically.  Here, our class sizes are much smaller. We have four 90-minute periods a day, and our staff is incredibly talented. With our curriculum model in place, our students are able to accelerate and satisfy the required graduation expectations in half the amount of time of a traditional school.   As a collective group, our staff is focused, relentless and determined to provide endless support so that your child can be successful.

Does The Academy have a Positive Culture?

This question is frequently asked by parents and community members that are not aware of our various programs. The Academy is a ‘school of choice’, which means if a student is enrolled and they are not committed academically or socially, they will no longer have a seat at the Academy.  This is a special place where the majority of our students are experiencing success for the first time in their academic career.  Therefore, no one and no obstacle will prohibit that from occurring.

Our Superintendent’s motto is “Success for All”.  In that spirit, in an effort to have “ALL” students succeed, we offer two alternative programs that are housed in an isolated area on our campus.  However, those students DO NOT interact with our Academy students.

What is so Special about the Academy?

We hold two graduations a year: one in December and one in May.  In the fall, our students have a chance to experience a fun-filled week during our Fall Spirit Week.  We also host a “Fall Ball: where our students can wear their “Sunday’s Best” and dance the night away.  In the Spring, we have our “Prom” and the “Spring Fling”. Our seniors also have the opportunity to attend their Senior Field Trip to Bush Gardens, in either December or May, depending on their graduation date.  Most importantly, our Staff is phenomenal at connecting and building relationships with our students. Lastly, the environment is always positive and our students are able to accomplish twice as much in half of the amount of time.

If you are interested in enrolling, please go to our website and complete an application.  Please don’t hesitate to give us a call if you have any questions.  Our number is 941-255-7545.  Thank you and have phenomenal day.
